Peer Review Process

Every paper will be evaluated by a “single” blind review. Authors are encouraged to suggest names of referees. Will be accepted after approval of the appropriate Associate Editor, at least two referees and the final decision of the Editor in Chief. If “Mayor revision” are suggested the paper will be automatically send to a second round revision. Authors will receive all the suggestions of the referees and the editors.

After receiving the comments, the authors have to make a Revised version of the manuscript and uploaded to the system with a letter explaining all the changes.

When the review process is finished the acceptance letter can only be granted by the Technical Editor, with the approval of the Editor in Chief.

The editor and all editorial staff have the obligation to keep complete discretion around the manuscript sent to the magazine. They can only exchange information with the author, reviewers and editors.

Ethics, plagiarism and bad behavior

For Geofísica Internacional is very important that authors respect the participation of colleagues in the research, without incurring practices such as taking over other people's ideas or not properly mention any other author. In case of any issue related to health or conflict of interest the authors should inform the editorial team so a solution can be found.

Each manuscript will be reviewed with the Ithenticate plagiarism review program. In the case is detected that its content belongs to other articles, it will be rejected immediately. If the author recurs in this practice, the Editor In Chief will decide a possible veto in the journal. It is considered plagiarism too when the authors repeat paragraphs or lines that already wrote in other articles

A common bad editorial practice is to send it to different magazines at the same time, we suggest you do not do it. In case of detecting it, your article will be rejected.
